Overview

Corbet Design + Build partnered with Hendrick, Beck, Brown, Cassels and Bedford to manage the construction process of the new Hendrick Volkswagen Frisco dealership.  The new facility, located at 5010 State Highway 121 in Frisco, Texas, features approximately 60,000 square feet over 14 acres, making it the largest freestanding Volkswagen dealership in the United States.  The project required two entitlement packages and two permits, but only one timeline to deliver the finished product. The land and future site of Volkswagen were two pieces of land under one Design Build project, making it more challenging.

Strategy

  • Manage the building process from start to finish and represent the owner, taking care of administrative burdens
  • Create a modern design plan that incorporates efficiency and sustainability and matches the standard Volkswagen “white frame design”
  • Integrate the Volkswagen corporate look with the required City of Frisco image standards including tile, stucco and stone

Results

Corbet Design + Build brought the Volkswagen facility from concept to reality by handling the design, permitting, budgeting, construction and commissioning processes. The new, state-of-the-art dealership is two stories and includes 31 service bays and features the latest design, efficiency and sustainability features Volkswagen is known for. Corbet Design + Build served as the single point of contact for Volkswagen and coordinated all of the moving pieces. This, in turn, resulted in positive cost savings, as well as a tightened timeframe to deliver the project.  Corbet provided personalized attention to detail, and successfully managed to follow all Volkswagen and City of Frisco requirements.
